Luaralane paced silently her hands folded in the base of her spine. It was early morning and Hopeth had taken to the sands. They had been in the weyr almost two sevendays... longer then was expected for her to clutch. Maybe she was holding the eggs in for a reason? Luarlane mine you have no reason to worry, I will clutch soon... there isn't many.. not like my last clutch... She whispered to her rider mentally. Luaralane smiled softly and weakly and mentally reached out to other dragons of the weyr. Hopeth will be clutching soon, we need candidates desperately, please send out search riders... She asked all the dragons mentally.
She turned to look at the sands, where Hopeth was now straining to lay her eggs. It seemed like forever, before the first egg spilled unto the sands, its shell already semi-hard. Luaralane watched the laying process, worry straining her features. It seemed like forever and a day, until finally, finally her dragon stopped for a break... Three eggs sat upon the sands, hardening now in the heat of the sands. She turned to look nearby to the Fire-Bird eggs still hardening. Her eyes closed as she sighed, playing with the end of her braid, and then walking over to Hopeth to stroke her hide. The eggs all looked small, but most of Hopeth's eggs did. They hatched into smaller dragons, but they where always faster and slightly more intelligent then most.
It was two days before all six of the eggs lay on the sands hardening. There was one rather large one, that Luaralane believed was probably a bronze, like its father. Hopeth was exhausted and curled around the eggs, pain shaking her frame as she sighed. "You where right, this is better then your last clutch. Your last one took you four days, and was ten eggs... I hurt you greatly I remember" She whispered as she stroked her partners hide. "Things will go well, we will have candidates soon."
I'm sorry mine I was wrong, there is more... The white said with a pained groan, and proceeded to lay four more eggs. By the time she was done, the poor little white was in a world of pain.
Dyamoth, please come to the sands, I wish for you to help me overlook my clutch. In preparation for when you will have your own... Hopeth called out, as she curled up near her eggs. For any that wish to see the eggs you may take a look, but NO touching... not any touching at all!

Valaraukar had just arrived from the trip from his cot hold. He was a bit stiff and the shock of /between/ had gotten to him a bit. He looked about and then realized that a dragon was laying there clutch. He knew that he was a candidate but didn't know that he was this close in time for one himself.
When the dragon rider landed on the heights he talked to his dragon telepathically... then he turned around to Val and gave him a piece of paper with a room number and a bunk number. "This is where you will go. So go ahead and unpack." he said with a wave as he lead his dragon to the clutching.
Val was a bit astonished that he wasn't able to view em... he knew that he at least had some right to do so. He moved quickly to the candidate's barracks and threw his stuff into the room that he had to share with someone and ran off in the direction that he knew to be where the hatching sands where.
O... yes... he was out of breath by the time he arrived at the hatching sands. Not only did he see the 10 eggs laid on the sands, he also noticed some weird smaller eggs. He wondered about them at first but then decide that it would be more polite to ask forgiveness from the white that had laid the precious eggs.
"I'm sorry to interrupt... I came when I heard that you where laying your eggs here." he said in a deep baritone, in deep respect towards dragon kind. He realized then that he would have to bow so he did so also.

K'in yawned as he looked up at the sky above him. It was a nice day to be laying about outside. The air around him was warm and the sun shown brightly in the sky as he and his dragon lay bathing in the sun. His large bronze dragon, Tarnith lay fast asleep on the group behind him as he leaned against him. A little smile played across his lips as he closed his eyes and drank in the warmth around him. It was nice to be able to relax with his dragon like this. There was no one there to bug them, no one there to tell them what to do, and nothing really important to do at the moment. If there had been something important to do though, that would have came long before lazing about like he was now. Yes, K'in knew his priorities and he didn't slake when it came to completing what needed to be done. Yes, he was sure that there was something that he could be doing at the moment. But that didn't really seem to matter at the moment. What mattered was the heat upon his skin and the comfort of Tarnith's presence.
It wasn't long at all, just as he was about to fall asleep himself, that all thoughts of sleep or rest vanished from his mind when a voice came to his mind and said For any that wish to see the eggs you may take a look, but NO touching... not any touching at all! Joyful excitement leaped through his body like wild fire as he heard this and he leaped to his feet. "Get up, Tarn! I want to go see the eggs. If they are as pretty as yours was, it will be quite the sight to be seen." K'in said as he pulled his shirt back on, which he had taken off earlier because of the heat. But he didn't have to wake the bronze dragon up for the dragon had heard the white's words as well and had gotten to his feet right after his had.
A soft rumbling sound came from Tarnith as he watched his force the cloth over his head and over his muscular chest. He couldn't help but be amused. Though he would have loved to slumber away as he had been, he knew that his would want him to wake up so they could go see the eggs together. You might want to fix your hair before you go running into the hatching sands to examine the eggs, Mine. Tarnith told his riders as he looked at his's messy hair. It was expected after leaning on something as long as he had been though. Yes, he would have loved the amusement he would get out of letting his walk on to the sands with his hair looking as if he hadn't tamed it in a sevenday, but he didn't know who would be upon the sands. He did know that Hopeth would be there though, and that was good enough reason for him to make sure his rider was presentable.
K'in chuckled and said, "Thanks," as he pulled the leather that held his hair up out and started to brush his hand through his hair until he didn't feel anymore lumps or knots. Then, after making sure his long black hair was straight enough, K'in put it back up with the small piece of leather and said, "Alright, good to go?" as he looked at his dragon questioningly. Tarnith nodded to his rider when he basicly asked if he was presentable and then they started to head off at a steady pace.
It didn't take them long at all to get to the hatching grounds, where Hopeth had laid her clutch upon the sands. Dodging a couple of fire-bird eggs as he moved towards rider, dragon, and clutch, he noticed a young man he had never seen before. Could it be a new candidate? Whatever he was he would have to introduce himself to the other later for the eggs and the white pair where the ones he was here to see at the moment. As he made his way to stand before white dragon and rider though, he gave the other man a little nod and a kindly smile. Turning his complete attention back to the white pair and the newly laid eggs. K'in bowed before dragon and rider as Tarnith inclined his head in respect. Looking at the ten dragon eggs that had now joined the 50 fire-bird eggs, K'in couldn't believe that all of them had came from such a small dragon and he couldn't help but smile at the sit. Way to go, Hopeth, K'in thought to himself as he looked at the beautiful colors and designs upon the shells of the eggs. He was greatly impressed by the beauty the little white had added to the hatching sands and he wasn't afraid to say so. Turning his eyes away from the eggs for a moment, K'in smiled at the dragon and said, "They are beautiful, Hopeth. You did a great job."
Tarnith was amazed at how many dragon eggs he saw upon the sands. He had been expecting something along the lines of five or six. But apparently he had underestimated the beautiful little white. Though they were all rather small, he noticed that one was a bit bigger then the rest. He couldn't help but wonder what the egg held as he looked upon it. Though he still wondered what lay with in the egg, his attention was pulled back to the white pair and his rider when his rider started to speak. The dragon head to agree with his on this one. Hopeth had done very well and he was not ashamed to say so either. In fact, he had wanted to talk to the beautiful white for the longest time. But there was only so much that he could do in one day and very little time to do it in. Yes, mine is right. You have done very well beautiful Hopeth. You have laid a beautiful clutch and I am sure that all would agree with me and mine when we say so.
